Best phone for abroad to call/text the uk

As above really the mrs has got her self a air hostess job.

First flight today and the French f**ked that up lol she nearly ended up spending the night over but luckily they pulled there finger out!

She has a iPhone 5 but she doesn't really want to use that!

So I need a sim card which I can top up ' so she can text me if she is delayed / stopping over etc which isn't going to cost the earth!!

Any suggestions?

Just shop around really.  I think Vodafone do some ok deals for when abroad.  I'd say whichever she chooses though, avoid using data, it won't be worth it for the brief time she'll spend in each country, but they'll all charge her so much a day.

Yeah I saw a vodaphone bolt on, £3 a day to use your mins data and text when your abroad! But that's to much!!

I just want a cheap sh!t phone so she can text me whats happening etc! Even if its top up £10 a month @ 12-25p a text that's still cool!

I don't think the phone matter surely ? more to do with the contract you have or the network you are on ?

No the phone has nothing to do it, £20 sh!tta for all I care!!

Contract is no good! As it allways ends up going over!

So a totally seperate phone & sim will be much better!
