So Im thinking -

MAF

16891 - Idle Control System RPM Higher than Expected.
            P0507 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16486 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70): Signal too Low
            P0102 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

ECU - This is normal?? From other topics on the net, it just means there is fault codes stored on the system?

01314 - Engine Control Module
            013 - Check DTC Memory - Intermittent

This could be a bad one. Theres a guide on the net for testing the flap via vagcom. Going to do it soon, but have seen photos of entire dash boards ripped out to replace it? The climacontrol things is working perfectly and blowing strong

01274 - Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor (V71)
            37-10 - Faulty - Intermittent

Thanks

The flap is just the one that governs the recirculating or fresh air part of the system

Cool. Some Audi forums say it's a problem they live with. Do you know if it really needs to be replaced at some point?

Done the havoc test and everything sounds good. Blows hot too.

Found the air leak. The T piece for the brake booster which goes into the inlet manifold (underneath, neext to dipstick) has as major slit in it. Soon as I put my finger up to it, it sucked it in lol and the engine went back to normal.

Just going to phone VW shortly to get a replacement. I was planning on doing the N249? & PCV delete, but require to do some heavy reading on it. I take it, there no quick way of just removing the vaccum in the interm for the brake booster?

Thanks

Top right hand of engine bay. Its on the pipe that runs into the air box. You can't miss it lol.

Be gentle with the connector when unplugging it. May be best to use a flat head screwdriver if the plug is really stuck on to the MAF>

Nice one, done it yesterday. Outstanding recall, VW are replacing the coils in a few weeks :)
