Forge Splitter DV quiet?
« on: 11 June 2013, 10:16 »
I bought a forge splitter valve the same as this:

http://www.forgemotorsport.com/content.asp?inc=product&cat=0006&product=FMDVSPLTR

and installed it on my mk4 golf 1.8T last night but it doesnt seem to make much of a wooosh?

Everything is standard on the car apart from the DV. What can i do to get more of a woosh noise?

You can adjust them by twisting the top so try that.

I was always under the impression that the splitter was no good because they keep throwing up fault codes , I was looking to get one for my agu but was advised against it.

AGU wouldn't care, it's more down to the air recirculation

mine is AGU and ive drove around 40 mile with it on and no fault codes on the dash at the minute. Ill adjust the top when i finish work.

Has anyone used the splitter dv before on a standard mk4 and know how many clicks it should be on?

I had it on my old agu for a while.. and after remap i felt the slight dip in power it was causing at about 4k revs. 007p or 008 is the way to go you will feel the boost hold well through the rev range

Had one on a standard aum for 6 months with no problems, might put it back on and see how it is with stage one but the are a pain to set up. But is not going to sound any thing like a Subaru.

Might sound a little obvious but have you installed it the right way round? It has to be installed the other way round to the standard bosch valve and the 007.
