exhaust help
« on: 10 June 2013, 09:41 »
well, i had the 3" system, then sold the 3" system...wasnt down to the fact that i didnt want it, it was down to the fact that i was offered something else

my old man took one look at the system i had and told me that if i could sell the horrid thing off he would put down 60% towards either a 42drafts or miltek system

now obviously this is awesome however he said he would only pay for the cat back

was wondering if i were to fit this (excuse the egay link)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GOLF-MK4-ANNIVERSARY-180BHP-EXHAUST-MILLTEK-CAT-BACK-NON-RES-4-GT100-TAIL-/230830744910?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3AGolf%7CPlat_Gen%3AMK+IV%7CCars+Type%3A1.8+T&hash=item35be95a54e

to this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-MK4-GTI-1-8T-20V-AUDI-A3-STAINLESS-STEEL-EXHAUST-DOWNPIPE-DECAT-CAT-PIPE-/180902138959?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3AGolf%7CPlat_Gen%3AMK+IV&hash=item2a1e9b944f#ht_810wt_932

would it work?

i know some would say just get the whole miltek set up but im thinking the money the old man would spend on a dp from miltek could go towards something else...like maybe a full polybush set up with engine mounts etc

any help would be great

lol i know right!

by the way I myself am not knocking the 3" exhaust at all! it was the view of my rent and the fact that i could get an exhaust with some style to it lol do like the sound of the 3" and would keep it if i were to do a ko4 upgrade in the near future but that still a long way off so

That's the same setup as mine, although I used a 3" downpipe so had a reducer made up to join to the Milltek. It's a great overall system, almost silent at motorway cruising speeds but sounds amazing at full chat

I got my Milltek from Dubmeister, £30 cheaper than eBay
