Hi there,

Could anyone recommend what they consider to be the very best wax polish for my GTI please.  I'm also looking for something good to clean my dark Alloy Watkins Glen Alloy Wheels.

The other thing if anyone can help - I want to clean the chrome exhaust tips on my GTI, but they've now got quite a build-up of carbon on the very ends.  Could anyone recommend a method of removing this please.

Thanks very much in advance for your help.

depends what you want from your wax, protection or shine. the top 3 waxes I would recommend are DoDo Juice SuperNatural Wax and Auto Finesse Spirit Wax for paint protection, and Auto Finesse Illusion Wax for show car shine.

For the wheels I would look at something like ValetPRO Dragons Breath Wheel Cleaner.

For the exhaust tips I use Autosol metal polish with my weekly wash and it does the trick. Although it depends on how badly affect the tail pipes are.

We have a detailing section that has plenty info on cleaning techniques as well.

What colour is your car as there are waxes specific to different colours?

Wax - as stated, Dodo Juice Supernatural is good and the Supernatural Hybrid gives great protection and shine finish.

Wheels - recommend ValetPro Bilberry Wheel Cleaner.  Followed by Poor Boys Wheel Sealant.

Tailpipes - Auto Finesse metal polish.  If you've got really stubborn carbon build up then try gently scuffing with fine grade steel wool.  Use this to remove deposits around the rim of the tailpipes and finish off with metal polish.
