Hi - from the Polo scene
« on: 09 June 2013, 18:04 »
Hi there!

I've just got rid of my first car - a 6n2 Polo.  Only I swapped out the pish 1.0, dropped in an AFH (which, if you can find another 6n2 with this engine, I'll owe you a beer) and stuck it on bike carbs.  Then a 1.6 bottom end.

I loved the thing, but after numerous rebuilds, it was time to move on.

My manager from work (gm8) has been at me for months to get one, purely because he has one too.  I've always wanted a MK4 anyway, so it was a no brainer.

Picked up a beaut 5 minutes from my house.  Mostly full VWSH, clean, the anthracite grey that I've always wanted.  The 1.8t AUM I've always wanted, and only for £1430..

So, I'm pretty happy.  Wasn't too sure at first, but I'm coming round to it.  It's fairly fecking heavy though!

I've been telling mother that I won't be modding it, but that's not gonna happen.  Managed to get all the Net Optic trim and Bora vents for a tenner from a scrappy!   Just put on R32 rear brakes too, got braided lines waiting for when I do the bushes.

So that's been polished up and installed, a new light switch and LED's all round.

Just getting my post count up so I can sort a deal with an exhaust and we're on our way! :)

Gonna tackle the interior first; I'm the driver, so I want it a nice place to be.  Thinking then anni front/rear/skirts and lights.

Then wheels and drop, then brakes.

And I think I'll leave it at that.  Hoping that a map to 240 is achievable and that it's fast enough, we'll see.

Obviously need ARB's and that, but yeah.  Make it look good inside, then out, then handle, then go.

So hi, I'm Adam!  From Glasgow.
