retrofit parking sensors on a Passat
« on: 05 June 2013, 21:07 »
this is my dad's 2006 passat, he wants to retrofit parking sensors mainly at the rear.  Old dog, new tricks  has anyone done it? I got a quote of about 300 quid just to buy the kit from my local dealer on top of another 300 for installation. ANyone knows how can i get a kit w/o spending a fortune?
Wife's: mk8 TSI 1.4 RL, 5dr atlantic blue, DSG, Norfolk 17", pan s/r, leds
Now: mk7.5 TSI 1.4 RL, 5dr tornado red, DSG, Singapore 17", pan s/r, leds
Before: mk6 GTI 5dr candy white, DSG, Monza Shadow 18", s/r, bi-Xenons, DCC
Even before that: mk5 GT 5dr tornado red, manual, s/r

Loads of cheaper aftermarket DIY kits available which are simple to fix.  Here's one example: http://www.parkingsensors.co.uk/?source=gpsg&gclid=CMPt1__cyroCFbLJtAodJ1EANg

I bought cobra flash fit a0358 and a0356 for my golf from http://vag-shop.co.uk, Paul from Professional Retrofits installed them for me. really good job. I think he's added some pictures on his website as well:)
