Air con test? Mk4
« on: 05 June 2013, 20:22 »
Hi, I changed my air con comp (used) took it to kwik fit who charged he system, they confirm the system took the charge but the compressor would not cut it in, how can test if the unit is at fault or if its the power supply to the unit, kwik fit have now removed the gas, any help would be appreciated, thanks

Take it to an air con specialist and not kwik fit, they will soon sort it.

If the pressure sensor is faulty then the comp will not run. It looks for pressure in the system. If there is gas in there and it does not run the comp it is most likely the sensor not reading.

can also be one of the green fuses on the top of the battery give it a wiggle when the system is on and see if the compressor kicks in
