Hello,
I posted up a while back about a gearbox/clutch problem I was having where it felt difficult to change into some gears and there was a little crunch occasionally. There were a few thoughts on possible causes.
Today I cannot get it into any gear with the engine running and if I put it in gear then start the engine it sometimes lurches forward and makes a grinding sound other times you can put it in gear and start the engine and it is fine though you cant change to another gear. I assume this is either the hydraulic cylinder leaking/failing or the clutch springs?? The clutch cylinders don't appear to be leaking anywhere but could one be defective without leaking?
Is there any way to tell if it is the slave or the clutch itself causing the problem?
The thing that confuses me slightly is the grinding noise when I put it in gear and then start the engine. If the clutch was fully engaged it would not make such a noise would it?
Many thanks.
