Can anyone help identify the colour

Hi ive been looking at doing a few touch ups to the VR6 but struggling to find what colour it is.

Im coming to the conclusion that it might have had a custom paint job as I cant seem to find it amongst the usual colours for golfs.

Oh and ive got a new sill trim for you eagle eyed people who noticed its coming off 


Any ideas

its something "mauve" i think. have you checked the rear boot to see if its got a sticker which shows the colour code? or i think if you remove the driver side headlight, theres the paint code stuck in the wing.

No but I have to have the headlights out tomorrow as someone fitted the mk4 golf style angel eye type but didn't wire them up. im not that bothered about them that much but I don't like having something on the car that doesn't work it must be my ocd thing kicking in again.

Just googled Mauve vr6 and it looks like it could be Dusty Mauve anybody fancy giving me a second opinion

Oh and i'd swap the mk4 style lights for some quads if anyones interested

Cheers guy thought it was going to end up being a right pita to get a colour match

Anyone had experience of wiring these angel eye lights.

They don't seem to be wired into the normal harness but have separate wires.

I tried to do the touch wires to a battery to see if I could determine which ones were for the halos and didn't get any response so im wondering if they might not be working but I cant see all 4 halos and the running light sets to have all gone on both sides.

Think im going to have to have them out and take them apart to determine which wires are for what.

Well  just been out for 40 minutes or less had them out and I'd bee missing a wire that had been taped up underneath 

So now I have full angel eyes and they look pretty cool and at least now if someone wants to swap for quads they are fully working.
