To do CV boot you need the car on the ground with the centre cap reoff from the wheel so you can get to the hub nut. Then you get a LOOOOOONG breaker bar on the nut and be prepared to unleash all the harsh language you know of

Once off then you need to jack the car up & remove the wheel. The easiest way forward is to mark the position of the bearing carrier on the suspension strut, remove the two bolts and then pull the shaft out. Problem with this way is its possible to move your wheel alignment hence the reason for marking it really carefully for reassmbly

Once hanging loose, bash the rear of the CV joint firmly till it comes off, ideally you want a piece of wood to stop you damaging it but I managed without. Then its just a case of getting the new boot on and the clips done up tight enough, but they are a real nightmare!
