Tried both versions, no difference in quoted price.

What were the quotes though?
£179 for protected fully comp. with Hastings but once I get a registration number Saga will be cheaper, about the only advantage of being old is car insurance.  :smug:

Bloody hell dude!  Less than £200? Wow.

... Can you be a second driver on mine when it arrives?
Don't think that would help as it's always based on the youngest driver. Saga should be around £150 as that's what they quoted me for a new Fiesta ST which I think are the same insurance group.

it's based on risk not age at least not entirely. one person driving a car all the time is deemed more of a risk than two drivers who may share some of the driving. in theory your risk is halved giving lower premium.
TCR, Pure Grey, DCC, Dynaudio and Climate Screen.

Yet when I added my wife (who is older than me and has more NCB than me) to my current policy those fatherless sons at Avivia bumped the price up!  I specifically pointed out that this meant I would be driving the car less than if I was the single driver and that they agreed she would pay less as a single driver, yet they are so f**king dumb they couldn't see that contradiction in their thick little heads, and no amount of explaining yeilded anything but long and tedious quotes from their terms and conditions or some other bullsh!t document that negates their need to use their brains.  Yes I hate Aviva.  Don't use them, trust me on this!

Apologies for curse words, but those guys make me mad.

Bear that would have been my point to tell them to go multiply themselves and take my business elsewhere. shopping around on all the comparison sites will net you a better deal than aviva who have to pay Paul S4itehouse for those crappy adverts!!

Agree with you both Aviva are sh!t (adverts are total sh!t) I'm with AXA for both my cars and manage the accounts on-line so far so good.

Not with Saga adding any type of driver puts up the premium.

so don't go with saga and find somewhere else. plenty of insurers for everyone but some do target particular cars, people and areas.

They are by far the cheapest for me with or without extra drivers and no one else drives my car any way.

JCT600 in York have a GTI 5dr, DSG in Night Blue.

Not sure what options yet as I haven't driven it. It arrived the day I went to them to place my order last week and they were still cleaning it and PDI-ing it. Will drive it next week probably.
Arrived: GTI, DSG, 5 Door, Carbon Steel Grey, Service Plan, Winter Pack, Side Airbag, DCC (or ACC - the Adaptive Chassis thing, ok?), Park Assist, Rear View Camera
