The standard Discover Nav screen is too small in my opinion. RNS has a bigger screen. Pleased i went for the full 8"

Yes the 8 inch one looked wonderful.  So pleased the demo car had it!

My current TomTom is something like 4.3", and my current GTI has nothing of the sort!  So, a built-in 5.8" screen is more than large enough for my needs.  Even taking into account the extras that come with the Pro Nav, there's no way I could justify an extra grand on top...that's just crazy, but then so is spending what I'm spending on a Golf anyway!
Pure White Mk7 GTI (5dr, Manual)

Options: Reverse Camera, Keyless, Adaptive Chasis, Climate Screen, Winter Pack, Discover Nav, Advanced Phone Prep

Think we would all 'like' the 8" Sat Nav, looks great! But at a £1000 more, £ I spent on ACC with change :)

My present Sat Nav is smaller than the 5.8" and will I am sure be fine and to just have integrated is my leap of joy right there. - Know the Pro gives a little more than screen size but doubt would use any of them and the 2nd SD card will have plenty of room spare even with my entire music collection on it.

Overall they way overpriced full stop with the Pro being more acceptable at Discover price and Discover half its present price - But it is what it is and if want you have to pay the VW man ;)

Most of the the tech on GTi/GTD is standard so option choosing was made really easy - Speccing the Audi was having me compromise across the board and particularly on engine but now I have the must haves of DSG 5 Door and Engine and pretty much every payable option on Audi as standard :)

I'm pretty sure for you guys with the 5.8 it still integrates all the same functionality with the MFD.  So your just missing out on the Nav size and resolution, not too bad really.

I'm still really pleased I got the Pro though.  I've shoved all bank balance related brain activity into a folder marked "not to worry about until the future" and dumped it in some deep dark recess of my mind.

Its the only way to get through the day, no matter what I'm spending money on, car or groceries!  Everything is overpriced it seems.

Exactly the way I was when I bought my TT. To be able to get in the car I could only afford the basic model with no extras. Fortunately this time I'm in a position where I can add a few toys

I'm looking forward to the fact that it's also a DVD player so when I get kicked out the house I have something to watch. Does anyone know will you be able to watch music videos on the system, e.g. ones that you have downloaded from ITunes?

It should play video content from the SD cards, not sure about an ipod/phone though?

The car was going to get was 5 Door A3 S Line Sport Back STronic with either 150BHP or the 1.4 ACT engines with Sat Nav Interior lighting Pack Comfort Pack a nice car no doubt but when saw the MK7 reviews and all the standard options I was stolen away! - I could have afforded the basic manual GTi but the GTD with lower C02 enabled me to add the final touches and give me performance/economy balance I have now - Also as faithful as been to Audi, just going to be nice to drive something different so cannot wait :)
