Just thought I would link to those MK pics of the tornado red....  you're right it looks a bit dull, needs some decent glaze (Prima Amigo) and some wax (Victoria Concours)

Just got back from testing driving a MK7 GTI and to be honest it looked like a MK6 GTI and drove like a MK6 GTI the only difference I noticed was the engine sounded slightly louder when accelerating hard. .I drove a 5dr manual in white without performance pack.

You sure it WAS a mk7? 

Being as I have been driving a mk6 for the last 4 years yes im quite sure thats not such a bad thing as the MK6 GTI is a excellent car and being as I have a MK7 on order I can be totally unbiased

By the way - GTD ordered in pure white with discover nav & voice activation. Also 18" Santiago Alloys, which i think is the standard for the GTD (other sources say 17" ??)

You get 18" Nogaro alloys with the GTD, or can pay £965 for the 19" Santiagos.

Sat in an R Line leather also while there and truly liked the cloth seats more and think they both supported better from first impressions than my S Line Half leather which however are still pretty good.

Is the Golf R Line coming to the UK? I thought it was a mainland Europe-only model?

That Tornado Red GTI is screaming out for some wax/polish. I can't believe they have them out for potential customers, not looking their best.

Sorry SF, you're right, my mistake. 18" Nogaro alloys ordered. Just wish the GTD would come with RED Brake Callipers as well

An off the cuff post where think everyone knows what meant but you are right it was MK6 Golf R - For my own purposes wanted to check leather seats against cloth and access of 3 door opposed to 5 door thinking there be not be too much difference in these aspects between models (to many here these are well known details but this is my first Golf so checking all aspects)

The Tornado Red GTi was out the back and had a good level of dust on wheels so imagine not long been delivered and was not in direct public view so imagine still to get the showroom treatment.

I'll be interested to see what the grey callipers look like when GTDs start to arrive.  I prefer a bit of subtlety so grey is fine for me.
