GTi engine mods
« on: 23 May 2013, 19:49 »
just wondering which route to take with engine mods for my mk6. Already had a stage 1 map installed, but wondering where to go next with engine mods that will actually give a better performance.

any advice / tips?

would be interested to see which mods other have gone for. post up some pics and a list of mods!

Obvious next step is stage 2 which needs a downpipe, and an intake upgrade will help. You can then look at FMIC and the k04 turbo upgrade but personally I believe you'll make a faster road car with chassis/brake upgrades rather than chasing bhp.

I have been stage 2 since December with Revo software, Blueflame 3" TBE and a Carbonio intake.

Next up is a Helix Organic Clutch, TTS short shifter, Bilstein B8 shocks, H&R ARB's, Superpro ALK, Vibratechnics lower subframe mount and dog one mount bush.

Brakes I am still not sure what way to go, but trying to avoid .:R/S3 calipers due to their weight. My tuner reckons he an fit Aston Martin 4 pots with bigger discs all brand new for a sensible price :undecided:

Then it's just some lighter wheels as the Monza's are so heavy and some decent rubber......oh and maybe a Quaife diff.......

if it was a Stage 2 car with no chassis mods or a Stage 1 car with chassis mods i'd take the Stage 1 car everytime

my wife drove my 35 last week (with me trying to keep up) and she said the car was in a different league to her mk5 in handling
