And.... For what it's worth it looks like the normal winter pack option is back on the configurator in addition to the Winter pack with leather option.

It might feel good stickin to the man right now but come winter when you see us driving around in our GTI's and GTD's there will only be regret!

Stick with it mate. The Leon is not in the same class as a GTD. With the sensible hat on, what you maybe save in time and money just now (big maybe) you will lose in many £'s come resale time.

I ordered on the 2nd April and was told late June maybe July delivery. now it's looking like September and more likely October which I didn't sign up for! VW UK are useless and I can't fathom out how others on here ordered in may and even June and have build weeks 6 to 8 weeks before me. no explanation from dealer or VW and they don't seem bothered either. if I'd wanted the car for the winter time I would keep the tiguan I have now.

Not that I want you to cancel, but you can get the Leon equivalent with EVERY option for £25k. And I mean every option. That is ridiculous value IMO.

mcmaddy, have they started shipping Leon's with the GTD engine yet?  The last I heard they were saying "summer".  It would be interesting the hear if Seat have got their act in any more order than VW when it comes to producing cars.  I understand your frustration with VW, but value of the Leon's saving quickly disappears when you end up with a less desirable car that depreciates quickly.

I have been looking into the Seat FR too as its a hefty initial saving and depreciation matters little if you plan to keep the car for longer. I reckon you could get a pretty good specced FR 184ps for under 20k using DrivetheDeal

The last I seen though it looks like people will be lucky to get their hands of them here this year at all

I know what you mean!  I'm happy for the guys who got confirmed BWs but its highly frustrating to see people who ordered maybe 6 weeks after me have a confirmed BW 6 weeks before my estimated BW!!!

Now it is apparent this is entirely due to dealer allocation I am not impressed with VW at all.  Piss poor service to be honest.  However, I'm sticking with it as I want that GTI soooo bad. haha
