Not quite. If you wanted the standard cloth seats and ordered the winter pack it was £350 which gave you heated seats and heated washer jets (the low washer warning comes with the bi-xenons anyway). Now the option is £245 for the winter pack which is just heated nozzles as you are now being forced to take the £1625 leather option.

So that being the case Mcmaddy, then £350 for winter pack with cloth - gives you heated seats and heated washer jets, and £265 for the leather option just gives you the heated washer jets (it's all that left).

So by my calculations, heated seats are only accounting for £85.00 (the difference between the 2 options) and £265 just for the washer jets, which seems extortionate to me !

Well that's what I meant essentially, £245 for heated washer nozzles is a bloody rip off. The heated seat fiasco doesn't affect me as I have leather specced anyway. Not allowing you to have heated seats without having dead cow skin in your car, and essentially forcing you to upgrade (If you really want/need heated chairs) is another rip off.

How is it they figure out you can't have heated seats on cloth? Will it incinerate my bum hole if it's not leather and give me third degree burns?

Initially when I ordered the car it was cloth with the winter pack, so that I could have the heated seats. Then when I added leather I wasn't aware I was paying 3 figures to heat up my washer nozzles. I found out by accident luckily. Crazy stuff really.

The heated washer jets is an utterly pointless option - I had it before and it doesn't work, the water still freezes in the pipes - don't waste your money!!

I'm guessing(hoping) its the configurator that's wrong - it still shows the colour mfd as an option. The golf price list from 01/05/13 shows different prices for the winter pack according to the car spec and does give the option of a winter pack with cloth!

Cloth seats and winter option was £350 but on the configurator its always been £370/£375. If all previous incarnations of Golfs can have cloth and ars* heaters then surely a new state of the art mk7 can!!

The i-pad app Configurator which auto updates with any spec changes every time you open it or your configurations only has winter pack with leather as an option.  Also no grey colour someone mentioned earlier.

My understanding is this Configurator app is gospel.

That app is pants.  It took longer to update the new price list on that than it did on the website!  I would take the app with a very large pinch of salt.
