mjh: I would'nt include Vauxhalls answer to ACC/DCC in that comparison, it's not standard on the Golf either! The amount of standard kit on a GTD/GTI are part of what makes it great value (and most of it is proper useful stuff rather than gimmickery), that and the class leading GFV.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Yep, when did that was comparing with mine to see how panned out and pretty close really and it is not with any biased in saying no contest in what car would choose! Had a 1.8 SLXi once and interior had the feel of an Amstrad Power tower and though they improved still hate the whole facia, how arranged and materials .. Good to see what GTD is stacking up against directly opposed to the GTI comparisons given the one glaring difference.

Real nice review. Good find. Think the GTD is gonna be a beauty ;-)

Crazy the Yanks aren't getting it until 2015! They don't seem to have embraced the diesel revolution like the Europeans have.

It says that there are 2 SD card inserts? Is this the case on the UK model?

1 SD card slot unless you ordered satnav I think, positive I only saw one on my dad's. The other SD card slot is for satnav maps.

I don't think they understand why you'd want a semi engine in your car.
