Tough choice.....
« on: 19 May 2013, 22:07 »
Time to think about ordering a replacement for my ed35, however decision has just been made harder.

Scirocco r dsg
Candy white
90% tints
Cruise
12 way electric seats

Or

GTI 5 door dsg performance pack
Deep black
Keyless

Trouble is both would cost me the same on an employee contract hire deal.......what on earth do I do......

Scirocco R is very nice, but it's been around a while.  It would be the GTI for me because it's new out and getting very good reviews.

!?

I was under the impression the new GTI was a few insurance groups lower than the old GTI, let alone an R model...

The quotes I have so far are based on mk6 prices but makes the Scirocco r 22% less than a mk6 GTI....

Tbh you can't go wrong with either. Personally I would go for the Golf 'only' due to its 5 door practicality.... but if I was choose the more driver focused machine it would have to be the Roc R...

Yes! You do have a 'very' hard decision & I wouldnt like to be in your position

Both sound good.  I'd pick the GTI.

Lee, even though I own a Scirocco (and still love the styling) I'd say go for the GTI. Scirocco now sitting on quite an old platform and has much less new tech. Plus, the Xenons are way nicer in the new GTI.

Lastly the new LSD is getting rave reviews. So, I think you'll be able to plant nearly all the power through the front wheels with the GTI.

Go on, you know which one to pick

(Still can't believe the insurance on the new GTI PP is more than the R)
Current: BMW M140i / ZF8 / 5 DR
Past: MK7 GTI / DSG / WHITE / 5 DR
