Boot wont lock mk4

ok so my boot wont lock with central locking!
i can lock it with the key but thats it
if i lock the car and leave the boot unlock as in the key you can open the boot but the alarm will go off...

Any ideas? vagcom? Reprogram? or is it just broke haha

my boot did something like this, i can remember modifying the mechanism in the tailgate trim to make it work with a self tapping screw..
is the motor actually moving?. as in have you distinguished if this is and electrical problem or mechanical?

pull the interior panel off the tailgate so you can see what's happening (or not)

Cheers guys, i believe it could be the common problem of the rear window washer leaking onto the motor as they is no sound of it working at all and water leaking out of the boot handle , pointed out to me by golfyste on here

Wiper motor and latch will cost you the best past of a ton so be warned

i know 
i think im going to dewiper the car any way, also dont want this problem again and just think the car looks better!, so its just the lock i need doing, as i say though i can lock the boot so its not a priority
