Air filters
« on: 17 May 2013, 23:37 »
So ive just bought myself a 07 plate edition 30 im not massively into modifying cars and the only thing i would really consider is and air filter something like a bmc cda but what i want to know is will i see enough of a change in the sound and performance to warrant me spending £200 pounds nearly on a filter?

Save your money and spend it on remapping the vehicle. If there is 1 modification you could make it would be software.

Aftermarket intakes tend to only add value in terms of gains on cars which have been mapped with associated improvements (Larger downpipe/sports cat with remap) and even then the price per hp gain on a dyno isn't great...maybe 5-10 bhp increase on peak figures whereas a map on the Edition 30 could see not far off 300 bhp with no physical changes required.

Of course it may sound better though...
