Brought a 1996 GTI 8v, 140k, 3dr, Dark Purple/Blue, got it cheap with no Tax & no Mot. My plan is to Tax & Mot and sell on for a profit. The body work isnt too great, could do with new mouldings (under doors), odd small rust bubbles. Did a 1 day insurance jobby so that i could drive the car for the day, took to Mot centre (bit nervious) and it passed with 3 advisorys
and then got Tax. Spent the rest of the day with the Golf and it was amazing, all electrics working, comfortable & really enjoyable, made me think i should keep it rather than sell. Think i might save and get either a VR6 or 16v.
