Cutting up a car shell

Right, iv got a shell sitting in my driveway, times come to get rid of it. Iv phoned local scrappy, they want 50 quid to uplift it. Iv got a 9" grinder in my shed and a wreck of a wagon to put loads of cut up bits of golf into but im wondering if this is okay to do? I dont have acess to a trailer btw, if i did id just put it on that.

Its just id rather take the car in bits and get scrap value for it rather than pay the 50 quid for them to take it the 3 miles to the dump...

Anyone know if this is okay to do? The shell is in my name and I have the v5.

if you take it to a metal yard, take the log books as i was turned away once with a chopped up citroen zx

I do the same with hot water tanks! They take 3kg off for the lagging!! It's a pain in the arse to take off, let a lone a rite mess! Let them get on with it!

I ment scrap value is, £180? For a car with everything in it! So cutting a shell up isn't going to fetch £180?

I will be doing this shortly to a mk3 shell. Not because of money but rather i cant move it. I'll be using a sthill saw and a big axe. I have a guy thats comes and takes all my scrap metal away once a month.

Nah wont get proper car scrap value. What i meant was just per raw scrap metal per ton

I ripped apart a MK3 with a hammer and bolster and a 5 or 6 inch grinder once as the 9" scares me.

Took bout hour and a quarter put it in a van and exchanged it for 112 quid.
