Load of sh!te. Anyone know when the Up GT! Will reach us??

Will there be one? My mate's old Lupo GTI was a lot of fun, and light - lots of aluminium panels to keep the weight down, will VW ever do a car like that again?

The UP! GT is a littler 'warmer' than a Lupo GTI I think, still should be fun with it's size/weight and 1.0-litre turbocharged triple produces 109bhp and an impressive 120lb ft torque.

AAddict: not by those specs - Lupo GTI was 125PS (1.6) and was most probably considerably lighter than an UP is, unless the UP GT also has aluminium roof, bonnet, wings and doors. What a car, nearly bought one myself.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Exactly, warmer as opposed to hot.

Jeez that's ugly! VW seem to be going balls out for publicity on the mk7 GTI so sales of the mk6 must've been really crap.
Lets hope they bring the concept to GTI International like they did the W12 GTI.

As for the Lupo GTI, I borrowed a dealer demo one for the day once and it is still the best fun I've ever had in any car despite owning quite a potent remapped car myself at the time. It came from an ere where VW were building ever heavier dross and it was a breath of fresh air showing that the engineering side of VW still held a little bit of sway against the accountants and marketing guys. Hopefully the up! GT will have the same DNA.

As an aside from the Concept beast, are there any youtube vids anyone has found yet of the VW stand at Worthersee showing the GTI and GTDs in the daylight?

I've seen a few photos on instagram but not much else.
