back to terrorise the mk4 section
« on: 09 May 2013, 11:44 »
just a word of advice guys, i`m back. i scrapped the renault scenic yesterday as its french and was falling to bits. the missus passed her test and got the dub vibe.. ( she got a new vw up  ).
So now, my golf is going back on the road within the next two weeks. she`s been sat in the garden gathering tree sap and mould for the last year and a half  and now she wants to see some tarmac.
i look forward to terrorising you all soon!
love jamie!

thanks for the welcome guys. i ended up buying a chinese turbo for the car due to short funds and all that being a mature student  :embarrassed:..
it was the k04-001 but on inspection i turns out its a k03 platform but with full k04 internals by looking at it.
it was from XS-power about a year and a half ago and they describe it as being simular to the E05 hybrid.
i moved house since then and no longer have a garage to work on the car in  (missus got her way with that one) lol .
the turbo itself appears to be o.k. i`ve not had it on the road yet to test it yet but i got some load on the engine and it seems to boost up o.k.
the car itself is pretty much the same as how i left it before i moved house apart from fitting an oil catch tank.
i got the mot next friday and hope to tax it the same day so rave on

Welcome back mate, I didn't even know you could get Chinese made turbos for mk4's!
I thought Volkswagens were supposed to be reliable?

AX GT

Were they the ones where the wheels were held on with 3 bolts
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)
