Getting ED35 Withdrawal Symptoms!
« on: 05 May 2013, 18:52 »
Sorry Vman for stealing your thread title...but I'm in the same boat, although not through injury!

Got a new job, all good, but then found I can't opt out of the company car scheme  :sad:

Not to worry, I decided I wouldn't pay company car tax, meaning I only use the work hack for work   :cool:

Then the crappy management company at my flats comes into the equation and dictates, in almost Gestapo style, that I'm only allowed the one parking space at my apartments.  :rolleyes:

So the situation now is that;

The Golf has had several parking tickets from some arsehole who thinks he can throw his weight around, my girlfriend needs somewhere to park, and I've managed to negotiate with a fellow business resident to use a space on evenings and weekends. The gist being, no space for the Golf.  :cry:

So it's currently at my parents house, hiding away until I find some new digs, and I'm stuck with a Focus naffmobile.  :cry: :angry:  (in fairness it's not too bad but compared to the ED35 it's rubbish!)

Is the vehicle a pool car you don't bring home,  as otherwise my understanding is that you will still pay tax on the vehicle.

Oh and check your deeds on the flat, you'll be able to see what spaces come with your property. We used to live in a flat with allocated parking a number of years ago and it caused endless arguments with the residents as there wasn't any visitors parking and some of the flats only had one space same as you.

I'd move to a house in the country where you'll have plenty of space to build garages and keep as many cars as you like.  :cool:
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
