Trying to fix botched seat bracket..
« on: 05 May 2013, 18:03 »
Bought these leather seats that allegedly originally fit a golf mk3. I'm pretty sure the width would be correct, but other than that, the seat brackets don't look much like the ones on the seats in my car.

Those in my car look like this:

The ones I bought (leather seats apparently with the option for heated seats) look like this:

As you can see someone cut of the left runner..  - which is why I need to remove the bracket with the runners attached and replace it, which initially seems quite easy, except for the fact that the ones on my original seats don't match the ones I bought..

My question: Are the brackets actually for mk3 ? Is it just because it's the heated leather version of the seat, that they are different? - if so, will there only be heated leather seats with the bracket with runners that I can use, won't I be able to just find basic seats at a scrappy which will be useful???

ALSO, does this look like standard brackets for the rear seats (the bench):

They don't fit my car and look different from the ones on my current seats - again I'm thinking it maybe is due to the seats being leather, but again, I really don't know, need some help hehe

The brackets should all match regardless of whether they're cloth,  leather or heated.

Just found out the seats including the rears possibly are passat seats from the same year (93-97)... So the turd I bought them from is a real a-hole.

Anyway, would still appreciate a picture of the front seat bracket for a leather seat or a heated seat (or both)

Can I just ask why it has to be a bracket from a leather seat?
All brackets are the same regardless of what fabric is on the seats.
