look at the one you have fitted and there should be a pert number on the back... It's not the part number that's important it's the letter at the end. B, H or L - I think there are quite a few...

There are also 8, 9 & 11 pin switches...

There is also a plastic lug in the middle of the switch some are in the L shape or T and they can be reversed so if you buy one and it don't fit then don't make it....

Fitting the wrong one can cause the loom to set on fire!

Yes cheers dude but how do I know which one should be in there? I'm wondering if the wrong one has been fitted and this is whats causing me the issues I'm having with my dash not lighting up

1, have you checked the dash bulbs?
2, check the rheostat on the light switch.
3, a careful check of the switch and it's fittings should confirm if it's the correct one, refer to my 1st post...

Yes mate I tryed another switch that's the same number as the one that's in it and still the same, but it had two different ones in he glove box when I brought it, it's had another speedo in it and I've been told on pre 90s cars that there are a few different types and a couple will still fit even though there the wrong ones.

Do you have the hazard switch on the steering column or the dash?

can you see how many connectores are there on the dash clocks 1 (on right) or 2 (1 each side)?

it's hard to say without seeing some pictures... could be he's spliced in a CE2 set of clocks, but I doubt it... You could have a batch of duff switches.... all the bulbs have blown - unusual but could happen.

does the heated rear screen & fog light switch's light up??

The hazard switch is on the dash, the speedo has the 2 connections one each side, none of the switchs light up when you turn on the lights but the rear demise has the little orange light at the bottom that comes on when you press it, I don't think the rear fog light is working and the orange light dose not come on.
