Hey fellas, just got myself a MK4 ARZ 1.8t Golf and it's lovely.
Pulls well and drives well, thought it might have a bit more pull but it has done 171,000.
No service history but only 3 owners and seem to have all looked after her.
Changed stock filter to pipercross and she seems to like it, Read loads of threads talking of smaller ports and it's a terrible engine but i think shes good and was thinking of getting her remapped. Not a racer, but i've drove some descent cars. Any info you guys have or any problems that are common with this engine would be good. not sure when the timing was done, i've just done the drive belt for the pumps and alternator. Just changed the coolant temp, and just about to change the sparks.
