Over heating help needed URGENT !!!!!

It probably looks like this,this is from our beetle at the weekend,if you take the thermosat out you should be able to put your finger in and feel if the impeller is still attached to the pump shaft.

one kast thing to check!
undo the little pipe that goes to the head tank with the engine off and try and blow down it. you should be able to with a bit of pressure. it might be blocked,happened on mine. but if you can blow down it and water isnt coming out with the engine running id say water pump aswell

Yeah that's how it looked wen I took it out it was fubared but all fixed now and thank you everyone for the input :-)
