mk6 newbie
« on: 04 May 2013, 15:44 »
Hi all joined forum to obtain loads of info on new purchase hopefully, just traded in my scirroco gt170 for a 2012 golf gti, just fancied a petrol car again as my current mileage does not warrant a diesel. my scirroco was a jan 2012 with 6900 miles on clock and I put only 3500 of those myself in 8 months as I am only a weekend driver, so I thought if I am going for a petrol then might aswell go for a 4 door for practicality reasons so purchased a pre-reg 5 door in carbon grey with Glendale alloys, leather, xenons and dsg box. just trying to get use to the fuel gauge moving down a lot quicker than my scirroco  but love driving it and worth the extra pennies to run, will try and get some decent photos up soon.

Welcome!
Both sound really nice cars!
Nearly went in the opposite direction myself due to mileage increasing from a weekend only GTI!!
But things settled down and the GTI stayed. Still love Sciroccos though!! Always fancied a 170 DSG GT or better still an RLine with the Luganos

Hi yes the scirroco is a good looking car but I think as an all round package the golf comes up trumps, the vw 170 engine is a cracking engine for power delivery and economy, but I was just not doing the miles and decided to go to petrol for the exhaust sound and performance. If anyone asked me though I would still say the scirroco is a cracker
