G60 insurance @ 20?
« on: 05 August 2005, 17:37 »
I'm going to be 20 in september with 3 years NCB (touching all the wood i can find)

What are the chances of being able to insure a G60 for under £2k? Which would be cheaper to insure, a LHD original import or a RHD conversion job?

TBH i think i'm going to struggle as the cheapest quote so far on a 16v has been £1380 TPF&T. That was with Elephant though, haven't tried Flux, HIC etc

The guy with the massive smile is the insurer, the guy looking puzzled is you.

This image will be burnt into your skull.

Elephant are usually cheapest when i've had quotes.

What you've been quoted sounds about right considering your age......mine costs 390 quid, but then im old

tho i actually still founs that a lot of insurers didnt want to touch me with a barge pole  :undecided:

Admiral were quite competitive too

RAOTFPMWL @ Slick too true too feckin true ;)
You have no chance mate tried to insure a G60 corrado before I bought my valver no "normal" companies will insure you and Adrian Flux and most specialists if your under 25 (24 gutted!) require you to have driven a turbo'd or supercharged car before how I haven't got a feckin clue!!!!
I'm paying £750 3pft on my 16v with 2yr ncb and :ahem: 6 points :D

Good luck!

Probably got lost in the "Great Crash of 08

Lol, i think the first reply just about sums it up then!

Never mind, i'll be more than happy with a valver for now.

How are elephant when it comes to mods? I'd probably be doing a bit of light engine work (good recon like gambit did, exhaust, filter, rolling road tune etc) to get it to about 160bhp work and adding coilovers.

admiral/elephant are actually the same company, admiral have been ok over the years when ive done various bits to me cars, suspension exhausts, induction kits... the only thing is i think when you say the car is modified on your online quote alot of the time the quote will be rejected, if this happens its worth givin em a call as they do the same quotes over the phone but have the options to include/add any modifications.....
