Newbie... MK6 help please
« on: 02 May 2013, 18:51 »
Hi all,

I'm new here, was looking for some advice on the MK6 GTi... I've been looking at getting a candy white manual.
I was looking for some general info...
What options are sought after?
What MPG do people get?
Manual or Auto?

Etc.

Thanks

Had a Mk5 manual with few options, now a MK6 DSG with loads of options.

Both do mid to high 30's mpg on a run, but thrape them and they suffer.

Option wise, depends what you use the car for and mileage covered. Reversing sensors are useful, bluetooth likewise. It's nice to have the toys, but you don't necessarily need them.

2012 GTi 3 door, DSG, Nav, Roof, Monza's. Candy White..... and it's the wife's.

Went to test drive a MK6 before, loved it.
Car will only be used to cover 6k miles a year. What options are sought after? Other than the upgraded wheels...

Xenons are good option, RCD 510 with DAB.   All depends on your budget.

Mpg - 27-32

Perhaps you could test drive both (manual and DSG) to compare.

RCD510 can be retrofitted.  Think xenons can or you can convert halogen lights.  I would post your question in the mk6 section and you'll get a better response as quite a few in there have done these aftermarket upgrades
