Hi guys,

Right, long story short I must have tried every variation of cai and induction setups

I swapped from a filter on the MAF and heat shield with cold air feed to a pipercross and dsg setup last month, the pipercross seems very restrictive, it's fine when going fast but when going slow <30 its a little stuttery and not happy, swapped back to the cone and heat shield and it's fine again at all speeds.

Any help, because I am sure other people on stage 2 run airboxes

Thanks
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)

Look at the TT wak box. I opened my box around where the intake hose connects.
The filter is fine. It just has to suck through the pipe, behind the light then up to the slam panel.

The DSG upgrade is better, but the intake tract is tract is too far.

Ps. The wak box is OTT. I took a hack saw blade to the intake corner , and opened it by twice the size. The DSG tube will still feed cool air, but it won't choke and can suck in more if needed.

VCDS proved a 4g/s maf increase and no increase in intake temps. With a silicone TIP it sounds ace without being OTT.

I've got the DSG intake on it already (soon to be for sale by the looks of it)

I prefer the car quiet, but you can physically feel it being starved of air at lower speeds

It's starved because of the tiny inlet on the box itself. Then it has to suck around the airbox.
Disconnect the DSG pipe from the box to the headlight. See how it is then.

this is my airbox

as you can see minimal restrictions!
i went OTT as at first i just did the corner with the air intake is. then i had a few ales.............. (il get another airbox soon and remove half as much next time)

IAT's however are not effected but MAF mg/s are improved. with a forge TIP it sounds subtle but purposeful.

i see this as being better than a Jetex type induction filter. It has the same if not better filtration, it can suck as much air as it needs, and it sucks in minimal warm air. the OE intake still feeds to it.

Bloody hell that's a lot to cut out. I might go with the cut outs on the wak box
