Fuel gauge issue
« on: 30 April 2013, 12:27 »
After getting my golf back from the upholster today I have noticed that when driving the fuel gauge goes to empty and the trip computer has "--" distance left.

When i turn the ignition off and on again the fuel gauge shows what i think is left in the tank. But the trip computer sets itself to 3000km to empty.

They did have a sparky in to fix the vanity mirror lights after the headlining was replaced, could this have caused an earthing issue, any ideas please.

Thanks

Don't know if this will fix it but it might be worth disconnecting the battery for 10 mins and see if that clears it? Your dashboard will light up like a christmas tree straight after but should settle straight down.

Good luck

Don't leave it too late as your alarm will blare for an annoying period of time.
