i'd actually quite like an up as a loan car as think VW are missing a trick, generally a mix of Polo's and Golf's, good new today was dealing agreeing to loan us their mk7 GTI PP for a weekend though

Why does it matter, its only a loan vehicle?

Besides, everybody knows that nothing is faster or can out handle a courtesy / hire car.

I had a 1.0 Polo yesterday and had great fun ragging the tits off it.

I once had all 4 wheels airbourne on a Polo coutesy car!
2008 R32 DBP gone. 2008 GT TDI going 2009 GTI coming soon!

My point exactly.

Plus, it shows what kind of customer service you can get from a dealer. IT IS possible for them to give you one of their demo cars and it also gives you that satisfaction that they appreciate you buying a car from VW and thus in return giving you a brill service.

+1 on audi, Icy weather, drove 12 miles problem free for a service then nearly slid into the gate.  Asked if they had something with Quattro due to the weather and was handed a top spec Audi A5 3.0 diesel with quattro, I OWNED the peak district for a day in the snow!  I want an RS5 next time please.  Though as I drive a VW I sit in the waiting room whilst they service it so I can keep an eye on it.

I like the base car for teaching you how to drive again.
And I like the nice models for a day of bling!

One thing about all courtesy or hire cars is when they wreak of smoke engrained in the fabric and you're sat looking at a no smoking sticker on the dash.  It's like sitting on an oversized nicorette patch.

Wow, guys calm down a sec. As either a loan or courtesy (for service etc ) car they can only offer you what they have. Realistically, they would only keep Polo's etc for these times. I bought my GiT new in Aug 10 and took it in for the first service in Jan/Feb 11, they could only give me a Fox at the time. It was a 15 miles journey up the M1 and the difference was obvious. I think that most dealers now have Polo's as their main fleet for these purposes. Though, took mine in for its fourth service 2 weeks ago and was surprised as they gave me a Tuigan, not only that but a Tuigan with more than a quarter tank of fuel !!!

Chill - hopefully its only for the short term and it will only make getting back behind the wheel of yours more satisfying  !!

One tip is to book in plenty of time and ask if they have a car with a DSG box. Chances are all their little courtesy cars will be manuals, so they'll probably have to get you something nicer from the demo fleet.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
