Brad.....Would this one be ok for my car as bought it the other day off Ebay.  I PM'd Ben about it earlier but I don't think he has been on here today.

I have the BVR 1.8 20vt engine and a 16v GTI gearbox......Here is the link......

Don't take the chance. Get a tried and tested sachs. Even LUK can be iffy.

I thought LUK & Sachs were same?, reason I say this is because got a skoda octavia clutch kit from GSF about 2 weeks ago for my brothers car. It came in a LUK box, but had sachs stamped on the actual plate.

Confusing  :undecided:

Sachs & LUK are made by same company, maybe a sister company or some sort. After Reading other posts on BMW forums. People have bought sachs clutch, they've came in sachs box, but have LUK stamped on the plates.

Mine came yesterday, Sachs in a Sachs box.

Does say on box that Sachs are a division of ZF, so perhaps LUK are too.

Known of ZF forever for making racing gearboxes and diffs.

You can have all the power you want and be able to overtake most people in a straight line.... But if you can't drive then having big power is a waste of money and useless.

Very true if you are going to own a car of such power then you need to be a good driver.  I have been driving 22 years and have owned many cars including a few Cossies, one of which was a pure monster. Bloke I work with has an STI Scoob and was rr'd at 289bhp, on the country lanes he is all over me in my 224bhp Golf MK3, but MK3 Golf's have never been that good when it comes to handling compared to the likes of the 205 GTI, R5 GT Turbo and obviously Scoobs and Evo's that are 4WD. In a straight line I can almost keep with him till 120mph then his will pull on me. I wont even go out in his Scoob, scares the life out of me!  I did borrow it for 2 weeks last year when he went on holiday.....Collected 2 of my mates as we were going to the gym. I am 6ft and 16st 2lbs as very in to my Bodybuilding but these lads I train with make me look like a dwarf......Classic to see as a load of steroid using bodybuilders got out of the car looking grey!  I would love one but running costs are just stupid. My ex girlfriend had a Ferrari 348ts and the Scoob costs more to run as in petrol, even if driven with care!!

Many years ago when the XR3 came out I remember being driven round in pre showroom launch car by my dads mate and him stuffing a 911 round the back roads of Reigate, all my mates thought I was talking bollox but he was a sh!t hot driver used to really expensive sports cars.
BOT, go for Sachs all day long even for the poverty spec cars.

The only difference between the VR6 and 16V clutch is two extra rivets! FACT!

I have had both out compering them to each other using a vernier. I think the 16V clutch kit was £80± from ECP.
