Reverse instead of first
« on: 28 April 2013, 22:08 »
Bought myself a bora whilst the mk2 is having some welding done :)

Having problems with selecting reverse instead of first, on my mk2 there's a white plastic bit that stops it going into reverse (can't think what it would be called) is it the same on the bora?

Thanks, Drew

You need to push the stick down to get reverse

i know that :)  but its as if the gearstick is already all the way down, so when you aim for first, it goes into reverse if that makes sense?

Does it spring back up?
Theres usually a little plastic tab somewhere on the gearstick stopping you going too far left and going into reverse......the fact you need to push it down to go into reverse isnt true....its only to allow the plastic tag to get past its 'stop' to stop you accidentally selecting reverse!

id that makes sense

Makes sense, no it's not springing back up, do I need a new spring?
