No Connection to Mobile Bluetooth...
« on: 25 April 2013, 15:38 »
I need help with my Bluetooth, i have never had this working (after collecting the car several weeks ago).  When i switch the Bluetooth on, on my Iphone 4s the phone does not find car?  But when i search for the phone on the MFD the car finds my Iphone.  Although when i press ok on this the MFD come up with the message "Mobile phone is not compatible".

I think the key is getting the phone to find the car, is there a discovery mode i should be putting the car in?  I feel i am missing something simple here....

By the way i have a RCD310 and a 2010 GTD.

Thanks

Martin

I haven't got an iphone, but with other phones that I have used, you need to make sure that your phones bluetooth is turned on, it is visible to all and will share sim data to paid devices. Check your phones settings to make sure this is all done.

If all this is done, search for the phone from the car. It should give you a key code of 0000 to enter into your phone when prompted then they should pair up.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

I also reccommend making sure your phone is not all ready paired with another device/car as this can sometimes mess it up.

I think it may be related to which telephone module you have, there is some information here:

http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/a5/VW-bluetooth-FAQ.htm

Although it does say if all versions work with the iPhone, mine is a 2010 model, but has a retrofitted Bluetooth module, which I bought through a group buy here and it works with my iPhone 4S. However it did take two attempts to get it to pair with the Bluetooth.
