Are one owner 1988 Golf GTi's worth saving?
« on: 24 April 2013, 14:15 »
Hi chaps,
Although I'm a new member here I don't own a Golf but a friend has a one owner 1988 Golf 1.8 GTi 5door in red with 122k on the clock, which she has owned from new. The MOT has just run out and she isn't driving it at the mo. I'm doing some investigation for her and trying to find out whether these are desirable cars worth saving, which I suspect they may be. Can anyone help?

I think:
 pre 90-spec
 5 door
 red paint

make it less desirable, but the 90-spec thing may just be personal taste.
