Anyone think i would be stupid to start putting money into exterior styling (wheels, lowering, R32 body kit etc) on a V6 with 130k on the clock? FVWSH, mechanically sound apart from an oil leak from the oil filter housing which i will be sorting this weekend. My dad keeps telling me i'm stupid and just wanted your opinions.

its down to you, that engine can go into the hundreds of thousands if looked after. ive come to the conclusion that my motor is going to die of old age or die on the road and seeing that the insurance covers like for like then its a win win for me

The worst that could happen is the engine going bang, which would leave you two options.
Stripping it and selling the extra parts you put on or putting another engine in.
It's not dead money because you will reclaim some of it

everyone told me to buy a 1.8T instead of doing an engine conversion. If making your car how you want puts a smile on your face, then thats your answer.
Best thing ive done is invest in to my golf, its the only car i want to drive, so to me, it makes sense.
