New discs and pads
« on: 21 April 2013, 22:02 »
Had to have new discs and pads (last week) as one front and rear disc had corroded causing brakes to judder slightly when braking from high speed. Dealer had it in for a couple of days was all done under warranty  MK7 smoker as a loan car, nice but boring.  :lipsrsealed:
Current: GTI Edition 35 Candy White 5dr DSG 19" Glendale, RCD510+DAB, Dynaudio, Storage Pack, Parking Sensors

Gone: Edition 35, GTI Mk6, Edition 30, GTI Mk4, GTI Mk3, GTI Mk2 and my favourite the UR quattro
For those that dont know DSG is an electronically controlled dual-clutch multiple-shaft manual gearbox

Edi35,

Can I ask how old your car is and what mileage...?

According to the Factory Warranty brake discs are classed as wear and tear items and carry no warranty...or 6 months / 6,500 miles...depending on which part of the terms and conditions VW quote at the time.

Did they admit to this being a manufacturing defect...?

Who is your dealer...?

Just asking because I was turned down by VW.

Thank you,
Billy

Car is 5 months old and has done 5500 miles so not lack of use. I had noticed that the hubs had corroded, something that had never happened with any of my other GTI's so must have been sub standard.  :undecided:
