Cutting out the mid section.
« on: 21 April 2013, 14:03 »
Anyone know what it will sound like if I cut out the mid silencer from a standard V6 exhaust and replace it with some exhaust pipe? I want the deep louder tone but not really looking to spend £650 on a milltek.

you will notice a little difference but your best looking for even a second hand milltek they sound great with the v6  or find a decent place to make you an exhaust

Best thing you can do is open up the rear box and remove all the padding, sounds great afterwards

Wazzer, can this be done to a standard 1.8t exhaust? If so what would it involve?
Golf Mk4 GTi Turbo, R32 front bumper, Lowered on ProSport Coilovers, Bora illuminated vents, Armrest, Heko wind deflectors, Aluminium vinyl trim.

Soon to be added, FMIC, 3" exhaust, Remap..oh and new turbo :(

Mark you could do it but the main problem with the 1.8t exhaust is lack of flow so it would be abit pointless where as on the v6 it's pretty much just for the sound!

R-tech custom remap - k04-001- 250bhp/311ftlb

"Project track car" has begun
