hi folks.

im baz from scotland (ayrshire area)

serving onboard HM submarines

big glasgow rangers fan

married, 2 kids and have a big stupid brown lab

love detailing my car, much to the wifes displeasure.

handing over the keys to my beloved M3 on Saturday morning and collecting the keys to an 2007 black 170 bhp golf in the afternoon if the viewing goes well enough.

any problem areas i should look into or check before i buy the car?
its a private sale so always try go to a car with as much info as i can and hopefully avoid getting a horrible car!! lol

had a quick browse in the forum and i can clearly see a re-map is the way forward and DPF removal?? what is this and what are the benefits of doing so??

i have had a golf diesel before on an 02 plate, gt tdi re-mapped to 195 bhp and loved it but really didnt know much about golfs or get into the modding scene.

what is a good spec for an 07 golf? any desirable or must haves inside the car?

what specific paperwork should be presented at the sale (recalls, inspections or big items being replaced/re-newed)

hopefully get to see a few nice cars in here and any local meets that happen i will always try to attend.

once i purchase the car i will post up some pics of it and see how it compares to some on here and then start to make it my own car by doing some subtle mods.

lol tell me about it. im having cold sweats the closer saturday gets.

im going to be doing very very little driving for the next 2 years except at the weekends on family days out (cant have the kids in the M3 cause they would scuff the leather!! lol) so my M would hardly be getting moved and when it did get moved it would be the wife driving it during the week!!     cant have that.

so i decided to let somebody else have the joy of cleaning it once a week and polishing the exhaust, treating the leather, treating the soft top, polishing the wheels, claying, waxing, glazing... etc etc etc. lol

me and the M are having a last fling together this week!! lol

i never take it to work if i can help it especially with this crappy weather but this week its been on "spirited" drives constantly and munching its way through the Shell V power.

next car (after the golf) will be a brand new M3 or a nissan GTR so plenty to look forward too and to be honest the 2nd best car iv ever owned was my old gt tdi so looking forward to getting back into a VW again.
