Hello all, after wanting a mk1 golf for a long time i finally stumbled across an 82 in a farmers barn. The lad was originally doing it up himself but it got pushed to the back of the shed when he got another project. Hes replaced the original engine with what looks like the 2lt unit of the very same design from a 92 Audi 80. Ive had a quick look on the net and the BHP for the engine is near as damn the same as the original 1.8 unit at 108bhp but torque is increased from 96lb/ft to 121lb/ft.
It definatly needs some tlc but it solid enough to make a good car. Ill put some pics up soon. Not sure if ill keep that engine in it for good as would quite like to put a type r in it or something similar but theres no rush for that so will get it looking right first.
