You do know that on some cars the 17705 code is a software issue....

What would this mean!?

Simple software patch when the car is remapped or it can be done for a standard car

Sorry Nino but from watching your problems i would have to say for this to be the actual problem would be pretty funny

but man i do feel for you and dean it will be a money pit i am currently typing on my laptop on top of my chest i keep bits in like my hybrid turbo which cost 750 in the end and i still got a good £2000 to spend to get the car exactly upto to the spec and i want and looking right so just be prepared.

BTW mine started as just a daily now i have gone power crazy

but your mad lol if you want a car that drives well, has little issues after the blood sweat and tears then the 1.8t is the car for you, ive now got my car working as its suppose to, its taken 2 years, 3000£ and lean months but i can now start modding properly and i know as soon as i start its gonna bring up fresh problems lol

its a vicious circle but if you want a car that keeps you smiling and guessing then have fun matey , i am

there not called issuses there called amking it interesting

So from what I can gather is...

It's not just my 2.0 gti that's a money pit but also the 1.8t that's going to make me skint aswell.

This is something I'm not liking the sound of. You've made me think twice as to whether this is the right car for me. I thought I could get a bog standard engine and work my way up to make it more reliable and fun to drive. But seeing as a fair few of you have already got mods to your vehicles and still complaining, my thoughts are.... Should I even bother starting in the first place  :undecided:

thats very defeatest yes all cars have there little niggles and problems but i can garenettee there nothing worng with my car the moment there will be something wrong soon its the same with car like this any car that is fun will always have issues its called the money pit because once you start modding it becomes a bug

but in answer to question yes you should bother and yes you can start bog standard and work your way up making it realible alot of the stuff that goes wrong on them is just simple stuff but you got remenber people who have problems with theres is because they have brought cheap or the cars misdiagnosed or things get overlooked during the modding path. dont be put off but us moaning saying we have little issues trust me dive in and all will be fine just dont expect a car that will be perfect for ever is all i saying

in other words this is a mini adventure, remember perseverance in the face of adversity!

i knew zilch when i bought my car, i now know enough to help out people in my local area who are doing something i once done.

money pit is a bad term, instead think of it as a long term investment lol

People assume that you can chuck more power at an engine with 100,000 miles+ and expect to have trouble free motoring

Be prepared to spend money on putting things right. Vac hoses, boost pipes etc etc will all need replacing if you want to have reliable motoring

Full service history means NOTHING by the way  :lipsrsealed:
