where should i start ?
« on: 15 April 2013, 20:48 »
As some of you may have read already, at the end of the month in going to buy a 1.8t.

I've seen one that I'm very interested in and it's big standard with an aum engine.

I would like to start with a few basic mods like ... Air intake, hoses, dv. Etc....

Could anybody advise me on what I could do to start the process from a bog standard aum engine.

I like that sexy whistling noise and hissing sound lol

Service it with new plugs, oil, filters etc and check all the pipework; replacing seals, clips etc etc

Get the basics right and drive it for a few weeks to make sure its running tidy before changing stuff that you may not need to

I agree with above but you got me to help you along the way. The first thing we want to do is scann it and see if there are any problems to deal with before any modding happens :)

You need to make sure the car is healthy, any decent tuner will refuse to map the car unless it is. Give the car a fluids and filters service, check your plugs, make sure there are no split hoses and fit a forge d/v.
