Thanks for the advice yesterday guys, managed to get a good discount after playing 2 dealers off against each other and using the carwow quotes to help. As you guys said I was worried about my part ex and got a better figure at my local garage that is set for worst case 6 months wait.

Which I am happy with considering I have barley specced it as it has everything on I wanted and specced on my mk6. The mk6 I specced xenon's, touch rcd510, folding mirrors, rear camera, reflex silver metallic and service plan. Which most are standard now.

My 7 Options
rear camera, service plan and carbon grey metallic

On Order - Mk 8.5 Clubsport Pure White, Queenstown, DCC.
MK 7.5 R Pure White, Pretoria Silver, DCC, Rear Camera.
Gone - MK 7 GTI Carbon Grey, Rear Camera, Service Pack.
Gone - MK 6 GTI  Reflex Silver, Monza Shadows, RCD 510, Rear Camera, Bluetooth, Tyre Pressure Sensor, Xenons Convenience pack, Service Pack :)
Gone - MK 5 GTI Reflex Silver, Monza II 18's, Luxury Pack, Mulitchanger

I've just got what I feel to be a good deal on a GTI too, using a quote from Drive The Deal, I managed to negotiate a better deal with my local dealer and I've ended up with what works out to be around 12% off the list price for the spec I want.

Really happy with the deal, and to be honest I don't even mind the wait!

That's a good deal. What spec did you go for?

Thanks! GTI 3-Door DSG, Tornado Red with ACC, Winter pack, Keyless Go, Discover Nav and a service pack!

Going to be a long wait but to be quite honest, I'm quite happy that (hopefully) most of the bad weather will be out of the way when it arrives so I won't be worrying about bumping it in the snow!

Just posted in another thread, but for those who don't see:

I got my discount through a friend at VW Dealership, so got a very good deal. Drive the deal currently offers 13%

The car I've bought is GTD DSG 3DR in Tornado Red with a reversing camera and dynaudio.
List Price: £27,390
Discount @ 17%
Price: £22,754

A trick for everyone: On the PCP, I have opted for 5k pa. I will do 15k pa, but as the residuals on the GTD are stupidly good, this works out cheaper. GFV's for a 3 year old GTD with 45k is £13,000, one with 15k is £16,000. £3,000 Difference. 30,000 miles @ 7.2p excess mileage charge = £2,160. So £840 cheaper. If I do less that 15k, I will obviously save more!

So price at £22,754
Deposit: £1,000
Balance £21,754
Price after interest: £24,549
GFV @ £16,000
Difference = £8,549
Over 35 months: £244.27p
Recently sold my GTD.

Phil117: You'll have paid around £560 more in extra interest by "saving" that £3k (and not paying it over the 36 month term), so about actual £280 savings, more if you don't end up doing £45k over 3 years.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Granted, but still a saving. And 15k will be my maximum, so hopefully my excess charge would be less, more like £1-1.5k.

Drive the deal currently offers 13%
Its been 12% on the GTD DSG for the last three weeks or so that I have been checking - you could say 13% if you ordered last week for confirmation this week (but only as prices have just gone up by 1%)!

Is your chum prepared to offer that discount to members here?
