Hi all, new member here, just placed an order today!

GTi 3 door manual in metallic carbon grey with no extras

I played 2 local dealers off against each other and got £750 (2.8%) discount for a PCP lease. Apparently I was the first customer to receive a discount and have the 7th car out of their pre-production allocation of only 8!
Not the best discount I know but I as happy! Was keen to order before the planned +2% increase on 1st May.
On order: GTi Mk7 carbon grey 3 door manual
Own: 57 plate GTi tornado red 3 door manual with cruise, 60 plate TT Coupe 2.0 S Line black with comfort pack

Welcome to the fold.. Any discount is better than none, however small it is.  Did you have a part-exchange?  I know I've asked this on numerous other occasions but did you get a lead time? I'm guessing its the same as all of us...  Sometime late June/ July??

Sounds like a pretty busy dealership!!!

Hi thanks for the welcome.

We did discuss part exchange of my Mk5 but will probably sell privately so we took it out of the mix for the PCP quote.
I'm not as concerned about lead time as I'd rather take the car in September, primarily due to my TT lease ending but also for the new plate. They did say the car would probably arrive July/Aug.

Welcome Champers.

2% is okay. I'm sure there will be a hell of a lot of dealers not offering any discount judging by the forums.
With 2% you have a fair compromise; the ease of a local dealer who will be able to help you with any problems without having to travel miles and miles, and the goodwill that you have a bit of discount and they haven't cut their profit to the bone.
Some are getting 8% from brokers but you're dealing with fleet departments who will hand over the car and not want to see you again for another 2 or 3 years...

I only do 5000 a year, we run 2 cars and the GTI will get the fun runs out and pottering around. I'm happy with the discount as I'm paying a chunk less than the price of a standard car but getting the PP, White & Reversing cam. It helps the monthly payment that my trade in is worth £7k ish.

Yeah that is cheap, but I'm also adding a whole load more extras and giving up less of my car in part-ex so I get some cash back to throw into bank and put towards the FCP (Future Crippling Payment!) ;)  I also do nearer 10,000 on average too.

Mileage makes a massive difference to the monthly payment. Means the residual is higher, plus a healthy deposit and not that many options means £169 is achievable. At first glance though I was wtf I'm being massively ripped off lol!!

True, but ultimately you end up having to pay for it one way or the other!  Having a lower monthly does make it easier to save for the final payment though, or for some cash towards a trade.
