mpg for 20v

I have a mk3 golf and i was wondering what mpg can a 20v aum or agu achieve and does a remap give u more power and mpg

I average 28mpg which is fairly conservative mixed driving. On a good motorway run I'll see 33-35mpg, when having a blast or sitting in traffic in town it can be anywhere from 15-25mpg.

A remap does give you more power and can in theory provide slightly better mpg, however often it stays pretty much the same.

I am looking into getting a mk4 at some point as it is a bit better than a mk3 for a family car as got 1 kid at mo and another on the way a drive a 3door 8v gti i was intrested in ths mpg figures i know my car will be better for mpg i can get up to 40mpg plus on the motorway but as my new job is 10miles away which is all motorway i thought a faster car shouldnt be a prob

Varies on the car and driver, to work which is about 4 miles I average 32mpg and 25mpg on the way back (rushing home less traffic  :wink:), my journey consists of mostly 50mph then around half a mile of town driving, soon goes down when you press the loud pedal

i average between 15mpg and 30mpg but mine is more of a toy for me the most i got was 45mpg on a 500 odd mile round trip at 65mph 70mph
vw golf mk4 ARZ 1.8T pipercross panel filter, xenon headlights, JOMS coilovers, forge 007p with green spring, audi tt anti roll bar, 3inch ebay trubo back exhaust, COOKIES MONSTER STICKER(adds bhp I swear)

The only thing that puts me off a mk4 is the looks (this means no offence to anyone) it dosent look as aggresive as the older golfs  but a mk4 with r32 bumpers or that anniversry front is nice there are alot of nice mk4s but why didnt any gti recieve different exteria it just looks the same as the lower models unless its modified

This!!! I totally agree!

I get about 30-32mpg but its not my daily so not fussed

Mine's a 20v turbo and i get an average of 37mpg, and that includes a bit of motorway, sitting in traffic, and general driving around
